With BLDG 45 carrying consignment merchandise from RIZZAT LA, we have set out to find our own vintage treasures. Wandering in to a vintage store is unlike wandering in to any other chain retailer or even specialty boutique and is truly inspiring. SO…the ApparelScapes tumblog team set out to the…
This picture truly encompasses notions from old and new forms of thought: Mom and grandma will always tell you that your shoes should match your purse. Check! But, the neon-punch of pink in the clutch and stilettos are on trend now, and the white, golds and silvers in the braceletes and watch nicely tone down the other bold colors.
A belt is one of the simplest way to cinch in an ensemble and take pounds away from your figure. An otherwise drab, baggy garment can be completely reinvented with a buckle or snap of a belt!
Usually, polka dots and stripes maintain an air of youthful exuberance or 1950s innocence, but this Chanel skirt is one transparent subject! The sheer fabric is soft and sexy at the same time. The airiness is perfect for any sunny spring afternoon. No other skirts at budget prices truly came close to the Chanel number on top, but skirts from Irene’s Story and Foreign Exchange came the closets. The white bottoms utilized sheer fabric and a design of some sort to punch up their feminine cuts.
Although the woman is doing little for her boyish frame, she is the epitome of black-and-white chic, as she strolls the black pavement in her booties, leather leggings and blazer. What could take this outfit to an even higher level, you ask?: A punch of color in the clutch. Instead of the black one she is toting, a bold bag could have offered a nice contrast to the nearly monochromatic ensemble.
The bright green clutch from Nasty Gal could have added an unexpected pop of color. Plus, the neon color choice is impeccably on trend.
Calling the top look a statement necklace is quite the understatement! What makes this piece, and other accessories like it, so amazing is that it *is* the outfit. A woman could buy a plain, inexpensive white dress, as the woman in the picture is doning, and create an unforgettable look just with the clasp of a chain. I am so obsessed with this jewelry piece that I searched through a few retailers for look-a-likes. Surprisingly, the closest match I found was at Claire’s! What do you think of the inexpensive accessory alternative?
I would have never thought to pair two different types of floral prints. However, this fashionista’s look works because the print in her top is dominant, while the subtle, sporadic design in her skirt plays a nice supporting role.
I love her hair’s voluminous layers and sexy bed-head look. When I attempt this casual, lustrous style people ask me if I lost my comb!
Chevron print is EVERYWHERE right now! The simple, repetitive pattern is on trend, feminine and universally flattering. This is a much nicer fad than previous limelight pieces (I’m looking at you, harem pants!)
The Apparel Merchandising and Management Banquet will take place at Kellogg Ranch at Cal Poly Pomona on Thursday, May 16! Buy your tickets soon and invite your friends and family to celebrate the end of the year with your AMM family :D
